Khyati Shrestha murdered brutally

Dear all,

It is so disturbing to know how Khyati Shrestha was been murdered. So, I thought I could share this will all my friends through my blog.

Khyati Shrestha, 19 year old, was a student at Jubilant College and Research Centre grade 12. She was kidnapped and murdered brutally by her own teacher. She was a very talented student. She passed her SLC with distinction from Biratnagar, Nepal. It was just two years that they shifted from BIratnagar to Kathmandu.
As per the fact known so far, on June 5, she was kidnapped from Putali Sadak. She got a call from an unidentified girl at 8:00 AM in the morning, who is now identified as Merina Shakya. She informed Khyati that she has won NRs 20,000 and a free trip to Pokhara through a random selection by a magazine. She was asked for an interview before she could collect the prize amount and the tickets.

She was off from her house to Putali Sadak at 1:00 pm. From Putali Sadak she was taken to the culprit's (Biren Shrestha) apartment at Khusibu. She was unknown what was going on until she reached the apartment. It was only in the evening that her parents came to know that she was kidnapped when her father received a text message saying Khyati was kidnapped and the kidnapper has demanded 1,000,000 ransom. The family was horrified and fearing that their daughter would be killed they did not inform the police.
The kidnapper asked the family come Butwal and pay the ransom, and then again changed the location to Chitwan, Sunauli, Darjeeling and finally Kakarbhitta.
Khyati's mother, Radha, reached kakarbhitta along with her domestic helper Ram Bahadur and handed over the ransom. While handing over the ransom, the kidnapper tried to kidnap Ram too fearing of being identified. But Ram was lucky to flee away from there.
The big worry of the family was that even though the family paid the ransom, the kidnapper did not release Khyati.
It is true that nobody can escape from God's eye. Luckily, Khyati's mother saw Biren succinctly which was very unexpected. This substantiated her suspicion that Shrestha, her former landlord, could be behind the kidnapping and informed the police about it. Police finally arrested Shrestha from Sorhakhutte area on Saturday, 16 days after the kidnapping.

Khyati´s family had first lived in a flat in Biren´s house at Balaju. They had developed close relationship during the stay in Biren´s house. The family had shifted to Anamnagar after Shrestha sold his house a year ago.Biren had come to the victim´s residence at Anamnagar some five days before the kidnapping. He had pulled out his only photo from an album there without the notice of the family.

Preliminary investigation has suggested that Biren could have killed Khyati the same evening or the next day after her kidnap. Police officials says that Khyati could have died of excessive use of chloroform, which Biren used to silence her.
Biren then dismembered Khyati´s body and dumped the pieces in difference places so as to make it hard for the police to track his crime. Biren admitted that he threw Khyati´s torso in a stream at Sainbu and limbs in Narayangadh, and her head at Balaju.
According to District Police Office, Chitwan, the remains of the hands and legs were found in Chitwan 10 days ago. Locals at Kabilas VDC-2 had informed police after seeing a suspicious carton with the remains of a leg that could be made out from outside. Inspector Laxman Giri at District Police Office, Chitwan, said they had kept the body remains in safety thinking they could be linked to some criminal incident. “The hands were cut into two parts, he said, adding: “One of the legs was in three pieces and the other leg was also cut to pieces.”
Police found a human torso believed to be Khyati´s in a stream at Sainbu, Lalitpur on Sunday, as per details furnished by main accused Biren Shrestha (Pradhan).Police finally recovered Khyati's head after 19 days of being kidnapped from Raniban, near Balaju, area in the capital. The head was found almost in a decomposed state.

This news is so disturbing and it is so difficult to believe that humankind can be this cruel. Can you imagine how a 19 year girl was slaughtered and her body parts stewn in different places. This is really so inhuman and terrifying. We hope that the culprit would get what he deserves i.e. the severest punishment for his deeds.

We pray to God that Khyati's soul will rest in peace and may God give enough strength and power to her families to overcome this difficult time.
